Attorney Sophia Hoffmeister specializes in compliance and data protection.

In the whistleblower systems implemented by FS-PP Berlin, Sophia Hoffmeister serves as a point of contact for whistleblowers as well as for internal company contacts. As a certified compliance officer, she contributes to the design, implementation, and ongoing review of compliance structures and ensures that reports are handled in a legally sound, structured, and confidential manner in accordance with applicable legal requirements. Sophia Hoffmeister receives reports from whistleblowers, assesses their legal classification, and oversees the subsequent steps—from internal investigations to communication with regulatory authorities. Sophia Hoffmeister has extensive experience, particularly with regard to internal investigations and the legal assessment of sexual misconduct as well as violations of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). With a particular sensitivity toward cases of sexual assault in the workplace, she takes into account both the rights of those affected and the requirements for diligent, transparent, and legally compliant compliance practices.

Sophia Hoffmeister also advises companies and individuals in out-of-court, court, and regulatory proceedings concerning the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other data protection requirements. As an external data protection officer, she establishes data protection management systems tailored to clients’ needs and supports them in responding to data protection incidents or regulatory inquiries in a structured and legally sound manner.

In the areas of compliance, whistleblower protection, and data protection, Sophia Hoffmeister conducts training sessions for regulatory authorities and within companies for groups of any size, at both the employee and executive levels.

Sophia Hoffmeister represents victims of criminal offenses as a representative for private prosecution and also supports clients in criminal proceedings as a witness counsel. In doing so, she combines in-depth expertise in criminal law with an empathetic yet professional approach toward those affected.

Sophia Hoffmeister completed her law degree, with a focus on legal history and legal philosophy, at Humboldt University in Berlin and the University of Salamanca in Spain. In Berlin, she worked for five years at the Chair of Criminal Law under Prof. Dr. Tatjana Hörnle, where her responsibilities included supporting academic research in the field of sexual criminal law. Her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Potsdam included placements at an international business law firm and in the legal department of the eBay Classifieds Group, where her work focused on data protection law and she gained practical experience at the intersection of business, technology, and data protection.
